Hi! I’m Elaina Boling, the founder and visionary of The Yard Life. I have been married to my husband, Justin, for 13 years and fell in love with him when he brought me a bouquet of broccoli for our first date. We have 5 beautiful children: Hazen (9), Ki (9), Gavin (7), Ella (5) and Charlie (3). My mom lives with us and is hands down the best Nana in the world. We also have a Toy Australian Shepherd named Hank Williams who keeps us all on our toes.
The Yard Life got its start at the beginning of the COVID pandemic when I went to part time as a pediatric nurse to be home with our children more. I wanted something to bring in a little income but also something that would bless and encourage others. We operate The Yard Life out of our garage which is filled with inventory. Everyone in the family plays a part in our operation. Justin assists with Marketing, Nana helps with pick-ups, the boys pull accents and help design set ups. the girls keep me company driving to and from locations and do “preschool” with the letter and number sets.
This was the first Card we did and boy have we come a long way with our designs. Never the less, this story sums up why we do this crazy yard card business. Lily has a chronic medical condition and due to COVID was considered too high risk and had been quarantined in her house for months. We faced this display toward her window so she could enjoy looking at it all day on her birthday. Her mom also organized a drive by parade so she watched as friends, family and strangers drove by honking and celebrating her.
Veteran’s Day 2020
We placed mini “Thank You” set ups in the yards of Veterans in our neighborhood. We customized these with their name and military branch. We also surprised my Father-in-Law with a Marine set up at his house. #oohrah #semper-fi #aimhigh
Schools
The Yard Life has partnered with many local schools in Poudre School District and Thompson School District to welcome students and for various events. We offer a discounted rate for school bookings.
The Lucky Few
The Yard Life was asked to do a special display for the NOCO Down Syndrome Walk for Jaxson. We special ordered the Awareness Ribbon and featured “The Lucky Few,” a title given to families of children with Down Syndrome. Jaxson’s family and friends were overjoyed to see it all come together.
Holy Crap
This yard was one of my favorites. This client asked for something funny to celebrate her husband’s 44th birthday, so we came up with the Holy Crap Display featuring poop emoji’s! His face was priceless when he walked outside. We were overjoyed to see it all come together.
